Musically, the duo draws from a rich tapestry of influences — jazz, pop, rock, blues and Motown soul — woven together through lush vocal harmonies, trumpet and flugelhorn, Hammond B-3, Fender Rhodes, ukulele and deeply personal songwriting. Their performances are both uplifting and intimate: joyful grooves paired with messages of authenticity, resilience and possibility.
Before joining forces, each traveled distinct artistic paths.
Narayan built his career as an internationally touring trumpet soloist immersed in jazz, improvisation and big-band traditions, developing a musical voice rooted in spontaneity, soulfulness and presence.
Janet’s path moved through music, television hosting, award-winning video production and live performance, shaped by rock, blues and soul influences as well as years of media and creative production work.
Their worlds collided while performing in a Seattle-area show band, where they immediately recognized a rare creative chemistry — one that would eventually evolve into a lifelong partnership in music, purpose and love.
Their original albums — including We Are All Connected, All Bliss and New World Family — reflect their commitment to creating music that uplifts, energizes and inspires meaningful connection.
When the pandemic reshaped live performance, Narayan & Janet adapted by launching livestream concerts, radio shows and online gatherings from their home base in Santa Rosa, continuing to build community through music and message.
